It's less than two weeks to launch date and things are picking up. We have a GPS card to cover Europe since we pretty much don't expect to be able to read the road signs. We are making first night, last night reservations and starting to pack.

The packing goal is to go light. We always remember Aunt Inga's advice from our Virgin Island travel days with them. "pack the absolute minimum that you can get by with and then cut that in half". Our goal is to have one small carryon bag each. As lead pack mule, I'm a fan of minimalism. I'll let you know

The kids are all leaving earlier and coming back later than we are (there is a generation gap in here somewhere). They all travel separately this week to visit friends and ski until we meet them in Murren on March 10th. We will all be there as a family for five days and then the kids will go off to Spain and Southern France for a two week backpack hike that is scheduled to cover over two hundred miles.

When we leave Murren and wave goodbye to the trekkers, we will rent a car in Interlaken and begin roaming. The second and third night of our roam will be in Moghegno , Southern Switzerland, the Valley of Jamie's ancestors. We will then head East towards Slovenia. The plans are flexible so we'll see.
